Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson– the man in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms during “Operation Fast and Furious”– is stepping down, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Melson’s resignation and reassignment comes in the middle of an investigation into the infamous gunrunner operation Fast and Furious. That program allowed straw purchasers to transfer guns bought in the U.S. across the Mexican border to drug cartels. Interesting who pops up in the foreign media to support Ron Paul. One must ask why Russia would want us to elect Paul? Could it be because he is an isolationist and will diminish American Power projection in the world (while cutting defense)?
Another interesting note is that Muslim newspapers also urged support for Ron Paul during the 2008 election. ...why are those who have NO interest in the success of the U.S. wanting us to support Paul? You'll have to figure that out, but in my opinion those foreign entities may be misguided. 4 Years of Paul might be just what this country needs to retool, and refill the coffers, though I can't subscribe to his head in the sand mentality on Foreign Affairs. 8 years of Paul might ruin our influence in the world though.

Project Gunrunner Cover-up Intensifies

Once again Eric Holder is openly showing his desperation in wanting to minimize the possible damage against himself and President Barack Obama regarding the still developing Fast and Furious/Gunrunner scandal. Last week reports began circulating of promotions being granted to three top supervisors of the failed and deadly federal program that resulted in thousands of guns being placed into the hands of known criminals that ultimately led to the deaths of government officials and citizens on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border. Two of the three officials promoted previously admitted publicly to their own failings while overseeing the Fast and Furious operation. These failings were in direct violation of their duties as ATF supervisors – and yet, Eric Holder saw to it they were promoted and each placed at ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. – within walking distance to Holder’s own Department of Justice offices.

Now Attorney General Holder is upping the cover-up stakes, sending a formal request to both Senator Chuck Grassley and Representative Darrell Issa – the two legislators who have most aggressively pushed for answers in the Operations Fast and Furious debacle, that both turn over documents they have related to the ongoing investigation. This request from Holder came despite his own refusal to comply with repeated requests from both Grassley and Issa for further information regarding the case currently only available to the Department of Justice.

A large component of the DHS’s careful selection of actors in its PSA videos seems to be PC-based. Although the average terrorist who has attacked/attempted to attack American interests in recent years has been a young Middle-Eastern Muslim male, DHS could not bring itself to use that accurate depiction. It might offend the people who are actually trying to harm us! It’s the same mentality that causes DHS-owned TSA agents to frisk toddlers and senior citizens with great zeal. Profiling would be offensive, even when the data suggests a certain profile to watch for.

Interesting Bedfellows - Giuliani - Perry?

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani continues to mull the possibility of a 2012 presidential bid, but his true power in the race may come if he decides against running and instead throws his support to Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

The two men are good friends, and Perry was the only Republican governor in the country to endorse Giuliani’s presidential campaign in 2008. Payback could benefit Perry on a number of fronts – most notably fundraising – and would likely strengthen his status as a top-tier candidate if he decides to run.

Survivalists not happy at new FBI requests of Military Surplus stores - Colorado and National

And I understand...to a point. This could be a slippery slope and anyone with a huge distrust of anything governmental is going to automatically think the worst. Sorry Preppers and Militia members, I don't sound any alarms on this one. It does perk up my antennas and thanks for making me aware.

I am well acquainted with many in law enforcement of all types and all ranks. I do not personally think this is intended to do anything but a make people vigilant and protect us from terrorism. It is a community effort (law enforcement are part of our community and are not the enemy) to alert Law Enforcement if a group of Jihadis buys a gross of gas masks. If a store owner takes it too far and calls if a harmless militia buys a bunch of ammo I would be very surprised. Still however, this is thin ice and store owners should not feel they have to, or be forced to do this. If that is what is happening I am against it. If they are REQUESTING it as a community effort (which is the way I read it) I do not see a problem with it.

An FBI Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force handout being distributed to Colorado military surplus store owners lists the purchase of popular preparedness items and firearms accessories as “suspicious” and “potential indicators of terrorist activities,” instructing store owners to keep records on and report people who:

“Make bulk purchase of items to include:

Weatherproofed ammunition or match containers

Meals Ready to Eat

Night Vision Devices; night flashlights; gas masks

High capacity magazines

Bi-pods or tri-pods for rifles”

The FBI handout, entitled “Communities Against Terrorism: Potential Indicators of Terrorist Activities Related to Military Surplus Stores” also instructs surplus store owners to:

“Require valid ID from all new customers.

Keep records of purchases.

Talk to customers, ask questions, and

listen to and observe their responses.

Watch for people and actions that are out of place.

Make note of suspicious statements, people, and /or vehicles.

If something seems wrong, notify law enforcement authorities.”

The handout also instructs surplus store owners to consider as “suspicious” anyone who “demands identity ‘privacy’” or anyone who expresses “extreme religious statements” and those who “make suspicious comments regarding anti-US, [or] radical theology.”

The handout encourages surplus store owners and employees to provide information on “suspicious” customers by calling the Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force or the Colorado Information Analysis Center

Colorado Voters Duped- Ref C money was not used as promised

Just like conservative organizations warned, Referendum C money was used where it was not intended and now they can't tell us where it all went. All around us we see the failed policies of liberals, the lies and the half-truths. Is America awake enough yet, is Colorado paying attention to promises BROKEN? That is what Liberals do...they want your hard earned dough to fix everything THEY deem important, not what YOU deem important. Democrats are rarely Democratic these days, they are Dictatorial.

Ref C money: Who knows where it went

Legislative Council staff member Kate Watkins confirmed what the Independence Institute has said all along. Because money is fungible, no one really knows how the Referendum C money was spent.

The Colorado News Agency reported that Watkins recently appeared before the Transportation Legislative Review Committee. Committee member State Rep Randy Fischer (D-Fort Collins) asked Watkins what happened to Referendum C money that went to transportation:

‘It was kind of a windfall to transportation,’ said Fischer. ‘A lot more money went into the general fund for transportation than backers anticipated. I’m wondering how much of Referendum C money, percentage-wise, went to transportation as opposed to some of the other things it was intended for.’

Legislative Council staffer Kate Watkins responded that it’s difficult to calculate how much of that revenue stream has actually gone into transportation.

‘There is some difficulty in really identifying what revenue from Referendum C went where, and a lot of it has to do with the fungibility of money,’ said Watkins. ‘Basically we don’t know exactly where the Referendum C dollars go.’

Job Growth in Wisconsin? Let's Recall the Governor.

Continued moves like this from the left side of the political spectrum are quite eye opening to those actually watching. As the country loses jobs record month after month, there are few states like WI with conservative governors where things are moving in the right direction...and the left is not too happy about it. They don't like real private sector job growth and taking charge of tax dollars in a responsible way...it's not how they've done business in the past and how dare you change it now even if we are out of money.

NAACP official convicted on 10 counts voter fraud

While NAACP President Benjamin Jealous lashed out at new state laws requiring photo ID for voting, an NAACP executive sits in prison, sentenced for carrying out a massive voter fraud scheme.

In a story ignored by the national media, in April a Tunica County, Miss., jury convicted NAACP official Lessadolla Sowers on 10 counts of fraudulently casting absentee ballots. Sowers is identified on an NAACP website as a member of the Tunica County NAACP Executive Committee.

Sowers received a five-year prison term for each of the 10 counts, but Circuit Court Judge Charles Webster permitted Sowers to serve those terms concurrently, according to the Tunica Times, the only media outlet to cover the sentencing.

“This crime cuts against the fabric of our free society,” Judge Webster said.

Sowers was found guilty of voting in the names of Carrie Collins, Walter Howard, Sheena Shelton, Alberta Pickett, Draper Cotton and Eddie Davis. She was also convicted of voting in the names of four dead persons: James L. Young, Dora Price, Dorothy Harris, and David Ross.

In the trial, forensic scientist Bo Scales testified that Sowers’s DNA was found on the inner seals of five envelopes containing absentee ballots.

This wasn’t Sowers’s first run-in with the law. Sowers previously had her probation revoked for disturbing the peace at a junior high school library, the Commercial Appeal of Memphis reported in 1990. During a hearing at that time, Sowers played the race card. She claimed to be the victim of “an attempt by powerful whites to silence” her, the newspaper reported. It didn’t work. She was ordered back to prison to complete the remaining two years of a three-year sentence she received for check forgery.

The NAACP has had other problems with voter fraud. The NAACP National Voter Fund registered a dead man to vote in Lake County, Ohio, in 2004. That same year, out of 325 voter registration cards filed by the NAACP in Cleveland, 48 were flagged as fraudulent.

But the NAACP’s voter fraud record doesn’t approach that of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. At least 54 individuals employed by or associated with ACORN have been convicted of voter fraud.
