Obama and his administration have shown the world how truly 'green' they are - opinion

When I say green here, I do not mean green in the environmental sense. One of the most truthful critisim's about Obama prior to the election was his lack of real world experience. Many folks on the left actually acknowledged this and said his lack of experience made him a "Washington outsider" as they tried to turn it into a strength. This would be like hiring a CEO of a fortune 100 company from the mail room and saying his ground up perspective will be his most valuable asset.....when it is his only asset, if it an asset at all.
But most lefties pretended the right was lying and just being political...while out of the other side of their mouth they sneered at Sarah Palin for her "lack of experience", someone who had run businesses, a state budget (albeit one far removed from most of us) and raised children in a middle class environment without priveledge.
Bottom line was, as long as the nominee is a Democrat, his experience didn't matter. The fact that he looked like a minority, even better. (notice neither of those qualifications have ANYTHING to do with leadership or ability)
What we have seen now in all its muddy brown glory is that a lack of leadership experience, a lack of knowlege on how to handle crisis, a lack of ability to surround yourself with good people who shore up those weaknesses can mean very bad things for our country, for the world and for the environment. Obama was a college professor (with a very narrow view) with NO experience in business, no crisis experience and very little real world experience in anything, who liked to hang around with other professors who hate America and free enterprise.
When us "right wingers" shouted this from the rooftops prior to the election, when we said John McCain wasn't that great but he was about 100,000 miles better than Obama our views were mocked. I don't like to say I told you so...but I told you so. And now our economy is on life support, enemies around the world advance their agendas without fear of reprisal, foreign leaders mock our way of life on our own soil, and billions of life forms in the Gulf of Mexico are now dead or dying with thousands of miles of Beaches and marshes destroyed for years or decades.
I can now see an old bumper sticker reappearing on cars around the country. Worst President Ever. To all my libertarian friends, by fighting the lesser of two evils (McCain in the last election) saying he was just as bad as any Democrat to you I don't know what to say other than I hope you learned something but I doubt you have. We have not even seen the true results of this admistration yet...this is just the tip of the oil spill.
The hypocracy here is beyond insane. It took Mr. Obama 12 days to show up in the gulf region after the spill (which is still spilling). Democrats criticized President George W. Bush for waiting four days after Katrina to go to New Orleans. There is no leadership here. Salazar is whining about FUTURE REGULATIONS...while the crisis grows. He continues to blame storm revealing what we all know instinctively...everything, everything everything with this adminsitration is about politics. He can't spin this one, but he will try.

Matthews is falling hard off the deep end. I agree with his frustration in the slow, or lack of any real response from the administration but to turn that into a Chavez, or rather MAO like response to this is unAmerican, it is sick. To blame Capitalism..is rediculous.

Life on Hold for the Folks of Tennessee

The media just isn't covering this very much. 29 people died and thousands lost everyting they own. 1 Billion in damage.
The Folks at Naval Station Millington TN support the entire active and reserve components of the US Navy and is one of the largest single business activities in the State of Tennesee.

Last week they had 11 inches of rain in about a day and the levee broke. There are a lot of good Youtube Videos of folks going through it. Here is one. Many people lost everything including houses and cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk8hiKKPvfc
The flood deluged the Navy base including housing, took ALL systems offline flooding a large majority of the buildings. However, due to excellent disaster recovery plans and good decision making prior to the flooding they won't be down long.
One of the main problems that still remains is cleanup, many workers have not been back to work because of housing issues. FEMA is helping the thousands of flood victims.
Some systems are already coming back online, bulidings with damage are the main problem now, and as soon as those are available and workers can get back to the office, systems will most likely be restored fully. BRAVO ZULU to the Sailors, Marines and civilians out there for their Herculean effort to come back from a disaster of Biblical proportions.
They immediately put up a Facebook page (PERS-43) and are keeping the fleet informed as to their progress.
The selection boards scheduled for May/June look like they won't be delayed long if at all. Those of us waiting to find out if we've been promoted are thankful for that.

A prominent conservative Washington activist think tank has filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against General Motors' nationally advertised claim that it has repaid its government bailout loan "in full, with interest, five years ahead of schedule."
The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) argues in its FTC filing that GM's claim is misleading to consumers, and factually inaccurate, and therefore violates the Federal Trade Commission Act.
