Don't listen to the neocons tell you about "why we fight." This documentary will tell you the truth.

If any of you wondering what's happening to your privacy and rest of your civil liberties, look here as well. Understand that the real reason we're at war is the reason government is now in the process of destroying your liberty -- and that this process started with the GOP under George Bush, Dick Cheney & Co. And arguably way before that in other respects.
I am not talking about the loss of Liberties over here, I am with you in that fight. I am talking about why my friends are going to Afghanistan and fighting the Taliban. Because they are scum, evil and need to be stopped for Liberties sake over there. Those women and children need liberty too. We can argue about whether the US should be the worlds police but you missed my point.
We are unable to deliver "democracy" or liberty to them, Mr. Bob. They'll have to usher in democratic rule themselves. Probably take another 500 years, if it happens at all.
Meanwhile, we are wasting American treasure and blood. Afganistan is STILL the place where, as Kipling said, "empires go to die."
you could be right, I hope you are not. I am more convinced each day that this war against militant Islam must be fought the old fashioned way...and I don't mean carpet bombing, I mean CIA operatives on the ground given the green light.
Mr. Bob, there are 1.5 billion of them.
That's 1.5 billion, roughly 1/5 of the world's total population.
Let's say that only 1 percent of them are "radicalized" and represent a threat to the West. That's still a number that dwarfs the capability of the CIA operatives on the ground.
I'm with the paleocon writers Like Larry Auster who say that the only way to minimize terrorism in the West is to:
1) Separate ourselves from the Islamic world (i.e., get out of their countries) but CONTAIN it; and
2) Restrict Muslim immigration into the West, because where the Umma is, there is Jihad. We (meaning the US and Europe) were NUTS to ever let Muslims into our nations.
We're not going to undo this mess my sending CIA operatives or troops into countries such as Afghanistan. Nor are we going to do ourselves any favors by continuing to listen to the foreign policy insanity of the neocons and the Israel Lobby.
