Jefferson County Palin Rally - aka Pancakes with Palin

***update, Hugh Hewitt posted some better pics than mine from yesterday's conference too.
The first pic here has Mr. Bob Beauprez in it. I saw him there doting over his grandkids. He's the guy in the striped shirt looking down.

This morning's rally, which was originally supposed to be "Pancakes and Palin" was electric...even though there was no food...and no coffee!

My first observances were a huge number of women were present and very excited about the addition of Palin to the ticket. Speaking to a few of them I have heard the same story over and over. "I was not excited about the McCain, he's a good guy but Sarah is like us."

I was also stoked to see quite a few signs and t-shirts that read "Democrats for McCain."

When the event oversold and had no signs of slowing down, apparently the orgainzers realized there was not enough pancake batter in Jefferson County to feed that many people (I am guessing around 6000) so the event turned into the standard stump engagement.

Did I mention there was no coffee? Being that I got there at 0700 for a speech that started at 0900...I needed coffee. A coffee vendor could have made a killing. But there were quite a good number of vendors selling buttons, t-shirts and accouterments...but no coffee, no soda, not a cinnamon roll to be found.

To my pleasant surprise the Governor's speech had changed and adapted to the current situations in the world. She only referred to a couple of lines from her original speech...which was nice.

She talked about the system of oversight for banking needing an overhaul. This got huge applause, but of course....Government injecting itself into the banking industry is the main reason why the thing is needing a cleanup...so we shall see what that actually means in the weeks to come. (certainly better than alternative of Biden/Obama)

She talked about Drilling for oil now, and making inroads into new technology.

She didn't take many stabs at the Democrats (something I was disappointed about). I think part of her appeal is as a fighter, she should be out there pointing out the competitions shortcomings with a smile on her face. I wish I was her speechwriter, I really do.

Her speech is getting better and the excitement surrounding her has not subisided. Seeing lipstick being waved back and forth like lighters in a rock concert was something I loved to see.

The pics I took are from my phone, so not too good, but Slapstick Politics should have some better ones today.

Former Governor Bill Owens introduced "Sarah, Sarah, Sarah".

Ms. Palin and the first dude (her hubby) were looking good. Again check out Slapstick Pol for the better pics.

Got you linked at PPC. It looks like we weren't standing too far apart.

Nice! Looks like the VA rally I attended last week.

We're watching what's going on in CO this year. Any analysis on what you think happens in Nov?

I have no idea what will happen in November. the dems attack of propaganda is severe and based on very little little truth if any. It depends on how gullible the people are.
