Showing great insensitivity to veterans who have sacrificed for this country, Jared Polis an outspoken Gay activist and Democrat big money influencer defaces Iwo Jima flag to make political points.
Colorado Veterans for America and Second Congressional District Democratic candidate Jared Polis are battling each other this weekend via back-and-forth press releases and media interviews.
The conflict started when CVA sent out a press release criticizing Polis for using the famous World War II photo of Marines raising the American flag over Iwo Jima in a mailer, according to a Denver Post article.
The Polis mailer superimposed the Blackwater security firm's logo over the flag as a means to criticize the Bush Administration's use of private contractors in Iraq, the article stated.
"Polis has not only defaced the flag, he has defaced the service veterans gave to this country — and the service of those men who laid down their lives to raise that flag," said former Marine John Fuchs in the CVA release.
The article then waxes tit for tat with Polis using his homosexuality as an excuse for not serving in the military. After I read it, I thought he lost the argument pretty badly. Apparently he and others like him want the military to roll out the red carpet for them...perhaps separate shower facilities?...not sure.
It is all pretty silly but Polis's disregard for the colors only shows his complete ignorance of how Americans who serve (and millions who didn't) feel about the National Ensign. READ THE REST
