Rep. Mike Merrifield says Charter School Parents should have a special place in HELL!

How do Democrat Representatives in Colorado feel about giving Parents a choice in education?

Representative and House Education Committee chair Mike Merrifield says; "There must be a special place in Hell for these Privatizers, Charerizers, [sic] and Voucherizers! They deserve it!"

I decided to let him know how I felt...I sent him an email.. if you'd like to, here is his address: mmerrifield2003@yahoo.com and michael.merrifield.house@state.co.us

Representative Merrifield,

According to your words to Sue Windels made public this week;

"There must be a special place in Hell for these Privatizers, Charerizers, [sic] and Voucherizers! They deserve it!"

Mr. Merrifield,
As a parent and native of Colorado, I find you contempt for parents, teachers and principles who are trying their best to improve the state of education for their children to be reprehensible.
Your vitriol, your downright hatred of anything that isn't the status quo is disturbing. You are supposed to be on our side.

We are parents who have tried everything we know of to work with the local school district only to find there is no hope or it takes so long our children are grown by the time we effect any change for the better. Then we see hope…in starting a charter school. We are teachers and principals who have become frustrated with a focus on behavior problems in the classroom instead of actually being able to teach students to read and write.

My kids now have a very bright future and a hope for a better life because they're learning in a charter school! My children who have attended charter schools have learned more in the first four years K-3, than my other children who attended typical schools did in their entire K-12 experience. Perhaps you should be looking at what they do instead of worrying about how to keep the status quo and keeping the union happy.

Shame on you.

Head on over to Colorado Charter Schools for the full scoop and a good synopsis of why this is a spit in the face to all Colorado PARENTS.
Michael at Best Destiny has some good thoughts on why the Dems hate schools choice so much.

Actually, there is a special place in hell for politicians who seek to resign children to medioocre educations.

I'll leave those kinds of hateful judgments up to people like Merrifield. That kind of vitriol can kill a person, eat them up from the inside out.
Hell-Heaven are the Lord's domain, He alone can make judgments like that.
